Dr Keith Grimes spoke at the RCGP's AI in Primary Care Conference in Manchester, a hybrid event bringing together GPs and primary care professionals to engage seriously with how AI is reshaping general practice.
Keith delivered two 35-minute talks: one on safety standards, and one on regulations and implementation. It's exactly the kind of audience these conversations need to reach. That is experienced clinicians who understand the realities of primary care, and who will be the ones making decisions about whether and how AI tools are adopted in their practices, and it's exactly what we see in our work with primary care.
The RCGP's 53,000-strong GP membership represents the profession that sits closest to patients. Getting governance and clinical safety right in that setting isn't an abstract regulatory question - it has direct consequences for the patients they treat every day.
